Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management Observes the 28th Foundation Day

Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, Delhi celebrated its 28th Foundation Day at its college premises. Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director of the Indian Institute of Management Nagpur, graced the occasion with his courteous presence. The event was presided by Shri Anil Shastri, former Union Minister & Chairman, LBSIM.

While interacting with the students, Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director of the Indian Institute of Management Nagpur, said, "It is extremely important to read the life lessons of great leaders like Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji. He further highlighted the leadership qualities that come up with reading habits which also help in developing wisdom knowledge."

Furthermore, he said "Indian economy is the fastest growing economy and in the coming years it can be one of the largest economies in the world. The government of India is focusing on the manufacturing sector, spending billions of dollars on the Indian manufacturing sector. India is making semiconductors and iPhones under the make in India initiative which is a good sign for boosting the Indian economy."

On this day, LBSIM honored its alumni for Corporate Excellence, Awards were given to alumni at the event, including Divya Bali (1995-97) Director HR, News Corp, Rakhee Lakhanpal Malik (1996-98) Head HR, Kearney, Bhanu Pratap Rathod (1996-98) Managing Partner, GrowthX Advisory, Anirban Chattaraj (2001-03) Business Transformation Intelligent Automation PA COE, VMWARE, Jayant Jawa (2006-08) General Manager - Overseas Business, Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt. Ltd.

In his welcome address, Anil Shastri, Chairman and BOG, LBSIM, consistently emphasized milestones the Institute has attained over the previous 28 years. He said, "The main purpose behind organizing foundation day is to honor the prestigious alumni of the institution and to motivate the present students. The whole program is organized by the students only. Recently we have introduced two new courses i.e, MBA in Artificial Intelligence and E-Business."
