The Iranian Foreign Ministry in its statement has said that the action targets eight Canadian individuals and one entity over their support for the terrorist outfit Mujahedin-e-Khalq OrgAanization (MKO)

Accusing Canada for encouraging terrorism and violence against the Iranian people, the statement reads,

“The people and entity mentioned in the list have spread wrong information against Iran, and helped intensified cruel sanctions against the people of the country,”

Iranian Foreign Ministry’s statement also says that the Canadian government had violated international obligations on fighting terrorism. Tehran accused that Toronto is supporting the MKO, a designated terrorist group and facilitating the anti-Iran cult’s activities.

Statement further says that Canada has also violated the international law and the UN Charter regulations by imposing and implementing cruel sanctions against Iran.

“Targeted people will not be granted visas to enter Iran, their assets will be frozen on Iranian soil and their bank accounts will be blocked within Iran’s banking and financial system”, reads the statement.

Earlier, the Canadian government had imposed a series of sanctions against a number of Iranian entities and individuals. Toronto gave the reason for sanctions, the “Iran’s rights violations” and “suppression” of riots, which Iran says are foreign funded and instigated.

On Friday, the Canadian foreign ministry announced bans on four Iranian individuals and five entities. Toronto said it is against the Tehran’s “systematic human rights violations” and actions that “threaten international peace and security.”

Iran has faced a series of riots since 22-year-old woman Mahsa Amini died at a hospital in Tehran on September 16. These riots have claimed the lives of dozens of civilians and the security forces. Also, the  allowing terrorist attacks across the country. In the last two months, the terrorists have set fire to public property and tortured several Basij members and security forces to death.

Iran is in conflict with the US and European block of nations over the nuclear deal. Tehran has blamed these countries for trying to destabilize their nation. “They want to make a regime change, ” the Iranian Government claims.
